Our School Today
Our school went very slowly these weeks. Joel almost didn’t touch his paperwork, he resisted to do it. I want a break, says he.
It’s because of the Idul Fitri. A religious moslem holiday — after a whole month fasting– that comes with laziness syndrome, haha. We don’t celebrate this holiday, but yes, we were impacted. Our (my) lazy bones impacted the most.
So, I didn’t put him in schedule. We were just going with the flow. I let him do everything he likes. Entertaining himself with our Yamaha PSR 350, now he had mastered the tune of Amazing Grace, My Bonnie, Symphony no. 9, and a few more — without my help. He was also being a lazy potato, spent his time by reading a lot of Autobilds & books of Five in a Row‘s book list. Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel was one of his favorite. He read it over and over again. Mike Mulligan indeed is a good reading for a boy.
Books he read recently:
- Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel
- The Glorious Flight
- Lentil
- A Story About Ping
- Katy and The Big Snow
- Papa Piccolo
It’s pretty clear that from the 18 books I got (FIAR list), he interested to most of these themes: aviation, story of a boy, geography, big machine (tractors, shovel). Those books are so ideal for a little boy
Yeah, that’s how we spent our lazy days. Switch to unschooling mode and switch back to a more structured schedule whenever we are ready.
Happy homeschooling!
