Masih di pengurangan 9, tapi sudah siap-siap masuk gigi 4, melaju ke pola pengurangan yang lain.

Why? Because Joel got his another Aha! moment with -9 subtraction. I could tell that he had already mastered this topic. Subtraction with 9 is special and I was more than glad that he didn’t scared by the big number of 100 or even 1.000.

We did some oral math yesterday, he could give me answer as quick as 30 secs. It was sooo amazing (for me), few days later he was still thinking that subtraction -9 is quite difficult. And now he’s flying with the numbers. So, I geared up for a bigger number like 40, 50 and very well he did it. I was rejoicing. Yippie!

Tadi, waktu dia lagi melakukan pekerjaan besar di toilet *grin-grin*, dia bertanya (agak berteriak supaya suara high notes-nya itu kedengeran), “Ma, 100-9 itu 91, bener ga?”

Wow! I almost cried, he’s not even 6, yet he had caught this BIG concept. It may be not a special thing for mom who has math-wiz kids in da house. But, Joel..

Jadi, berapa 1.000-9, Joel?

Dengan mantap dia menjawab: 991.

Wow! Padahal di worksheetnya, semua soalnya adalah pengurangan di bawah 20.
